Ironrock and the Environment

Since the inception of the company as a brick paver manufacturer over one hundred forty years ago, Ironrock has had a commitment of stewardship toward the land and its resources. We pride ourselves on our effort to recycle, reduce waste, and incorporate resource saving practices into everyday work practices.

In an effort to further reduce waste material, Ironrock has begun a recycling program. We now recycle a number of materials from our Canton, OH operating facility, and encourage employees to bring in their recyclable products from home. The numbers to the right show the material in pounds that Ironrock has recycled since the inception of the program in September of 2008.

In 2010-2011 Ironrock undertook replacing all indoor
lighting with high energy efficient bulbs and fixtures -
cutting electrical consumption from lighting by more than 60% . This was in cooperation with the Energy Policy Act (EPACT) and Ironrock's local utility company. The new lighting covers the entire 370,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing, shipping, and office space at Ironrock. The lights are designed not only to be more efficient but also are equipped with timed motion sensors for even more energy savings.

Finally, we are proud of this new and increased commitment by the Ironrock family as we work to instill a sense of stewardship throughout our operations.
